Halloween Make Up Magic
We thought it would be fun, in the spirit of Halloween, to team up with an expert (dream team) to showcase some fun make up ideas. When I first reached out to Tamara Crowe, owner of Eyes On You Salon in Tampa, she was beyond ready! She, along with her team of talented artists, were all-systems GO! I arrived for the shoot, things were in full swing. The phone was ringing off the hook, the girls were prepping their work stations, clients came in to stock up on products for home...it was bustling!
The overall vibe of this full-service salon, was relaxing and very zen. From the design aesthetic to the chill music playing, it was all so serene. As I observed the ladies work their magic, I was inspired by their focus, their passion and of course... their talent.
When I asked Tamara about her journey to being the matriarch of this family and what drives her, this is what she had to say...
"I started out in the salon business about 15 years ago. Art has always been a huge passion of mine, so doing hair, make up, extensions and all the other services we offer is just another expression of my art. During my first few years of being a licensed cosmetologist I also got my bachelors degree in marketing and management from USF. Eyes On You started out being my on-site side business away from a chair I rented at someone else's salon. I was starting to get so many referrals from doing past brides hair and make up for their weddings that I needed extra help. I named my business eyes on you because I wondering "what do all brides want?" and I feel the most important thing that brides want is all eyes on them. After a while the word started getting around that Eyes On You was The place to go to for hair and make up. We grew out of our tiny booth rental space, I put my marketing and management skills to use, and opened up my own salon and spa. Now Eyes On You offers much more than just hair and make up. We needed space to do all these wild Halloween looks, Colors & cuts, extensions and bridal trials. I couldn't be happier doing what I do, and I truly feel I have the dream team. I love being able to transform people and uplift someone's day by how they perceive themselves. When you feel you look good on the outside it changes the way you feel on the inside positively. So to me, being a cosmetologist and salon owner is so much more than just styling hair and being day to day. I love being able to lift someone spirits through my art."
