HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!

WELCOME 2017, We've been waiting for you!

Each year, I struggle with finding the appropriate resolution for myself. Why is it so hard? And what is it about a "new year" that makes us feel the need to resolve to do anything different, at all? I mean, isn't January 1st just like any other day?

To so many of us, we automatically merge the concept of a new year with a new beginning. I'm guilty of it, too. I also see it ALL over social media! People make these predictions and promise to themselves and others, to make things better, to improve something about themselves or their lives, etc. There is nothing wrong with wanting to better yourself, it's actually an incredible (albeit - slightly scary) thought.

Perfection is a myth. No one is perfect. However, striving to be our own version of perfect, is completely fine, just don't let your life depend on it. Don't sacrifice relationships in your life, in pursuit of becoming someone 'new'. The people in your life already like you, just the way you are! So get healthy, read a little more, worry a little less, spend more time with loved ones, spend less time at work, etc. Whatever it is, that you want to change/make better--DO IT! Just remember that we are all human, and no change will take place overnight. Allow yourself a grace period. This is why (in my opinion) most resolutions don't survive the first few months of the amazing new year...we get discouraged and frankly--give up. Don't do that. Don't be the giver-upper. Soldier on and prove to yourself that you are worthy of the effort and you CAN and you WILL make it happen! I'm speaking as much to myself as I am to anyone reading this. I plan to set realistic goals and challenge myself to achieve them. Once I have done that, I will set new goals. Baby steps, perhaps, but atleast they're in the right direction! Now get our there and kick 2017 in the teeth.....in the most positive way, of course!

Let's help each other out... tell me what some of your resolutions are and I'll tell you mine! Once it's out there, it's real..right?

My #1 resolution is to BLOG MORE!!!! I let myself slack about a month after we launched and I've been kicking myself in the bum, every day since! 2017 will bring you more content, more topics, more FUN and encouragement than ever before!

Much love,

Bethany XO
