Brunch Babe

Can I just give a big shout out to whoever invented brunch? No, seriously, a big high five and maybe even a slap on the booty. Because if you’re anything like me... you don’t get the chance to eat breakfast very often. I’m not an early bird AT ALL. I usually cook a microwave breakfast at work Monday - Friday and on the weekends I totally lay in bed for an undisclosed period of time and miss McDonalds breakfast drive-thru times. Who wants to wait in line and rush somewhere by 10:30 to get some greasy high calorie breakfast sandwich anyway? Not me!
So, to say the least brunch is my saving grace on the weekends. I throughly enjoy breakfast foods and order them whenever I available to me. So I got really excited when First Watch came to Lakeland, a whole restaurant devoted to Breakfast and Brunch? Count me in. After delaying my visit a little while for the hype wait lines to calm down, I finally went and it was not a disappointment.

My family and I woke up and drove to the North Lakeland location. We were meeting some friends as well. For a party of 6 we walked right in and were seated by the host. Now, first and foremost let me just say that the employees at First Watch are extremely nice, like scary Stepford town nice (Publix/Chic-fil-a esque) But, in today’s world who can complain about people being overly nice?! It makes the establishment stand out from the very beginning.
When we first sat down, I was offered water and coffee right off the bat, they leave the coffee pot and carafe on the table for you which is nice because who hates waiting on refills? Everyone. They also have flavored creamers on the table, which for someone who usually ordered the craziest flavor combos at Dunkin’, that’s a huge plus for me.
Now onto my main course, I ordered the Eggs Benedict, which overall was delicious, but the one basic complaint I had was the egg was cooked too long and I didn’t get the Instagram Boomerang worthy yoke porn, which is very disappointing for someone like me. I give it a A- still, for the flavor and freshness. The main dish came with your choice of sides, I got the fresh fruit. Now usually you think Strawberries, Orange or Banana for breakfast, not at First Watch! Here you get Pineapple, Blueberries and Honeydew! Now, I may be a tad biased but these are a few of my favorite fruits and I was extremely happy with my selection.
The guys at the table got the omelets and I forced them to give me a bite because well, that’s what I do. Needless to say, I will be back to get one. The ingredient to egg ratio was perfection! And we ordered the Chocolate Chip Pancakes for the kids and parents I do not say this lightly, DO IT! Want to know why? Because it’s HUGE and you’re kids will not be able to finish it, which means you get to 😉 but seriously, I ate about a quarter of it and no regrets on messing up my wannabe diet at all.

So if you’re looking for a place the whole family can enjoy, eat organic, and is just an awesome environment, go to First Watch! Seriously, it’s amazing.
